Backup And Disaster Recovery Systems
The very beginning of any good Disaster Recovery Plan includes a good backup and disaster recovery system. GearyTech's Managed Services platform includes software from Acronis which not only backs up, but takes critical "snapshots" of your servers and workstations so they can be restored - even to different hardware - in the event of a disaster. Additionally, we move your backups off-site to our data centre daily so you don't have to worry about assigning someone to take tapes or hard drives home with them. Our monitoring tools alert us if any backups fail, and we can remedy and reschedule these backups remotely. Restoring individual files or entire systems is a snap.
How It Works
GearyTech installs backup software and an agent onto every server and PC in your organization. We also install either a backup drive or a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device to hold your local backups.
Scheduled backups send images of your servers and PC's to the NAS in your office. After this is complete, the backups are mirrored to our data center. All backups and transmissions are encrypted, and access to your backup images is strictly controlled.

Our technicians can "mount" any backup in your array and restore individual files or entire computers. Customers typically opt for a 60 day restoration window (files can be restored from any day back 60 days), but we can customize contracts to go back as long as you would like.
In the event of total hardware failure, we can easily restore a PC's image to another computer (a spare, for example) and have your staff up and running with their computer looking just the way it did before the failure. The restore doesn't even need to be to the same brand of computer.

We test customer backups on our bench on a regular basis (depends on level of Managed Services Plan). This involves restoring servers and critical workstations in a test environment to be certain that we could do so in an emergency. Too often, techs do not have access to the backups, or need to restore back to your live environment in order to prove your backups work. With GearyTech's Managed Services, we eliminate this problem and certify your backups actually work.
